Since it's been forever: Happy 2014 and whatnot.  Website is dead but I found work as a teacher anyway and love it so far so I'm not sad.  Just hope I can make it a full-time job in 2014, because I want to secure full-time work in something enjoyable.  Weather jobs are pretty much out of the question now (thanks global economy) so it's a teaching I will go.

I'm now starting development on Nittany Tiger Weather, a new amateur forecasting blog and weather website. I'll first be offering current conditions and forecasts for the Rock Hill, SC area, and then offer personalized forecasts for anyone interested at no charge.

Getting help from icon:kamishizuka with the development of the website since I've never built one.  It's going to be fun learning HTML again and other languages, and have a functional website to satisfy my weather itch.

Here's the url, but nothing is there at the moment.

New Job Soon?

1 min read
Going to talk to a PC repair shop in North Carolina about a possible job tomorrow.  Wish me luck and pray for me as this could be work that finally gets me back on my feet.  NWS job prospects are looking poor at the moment.  You never know in the future, though.

Update 1/30/13

Hey everyone.

Things went OK with the chat with Larry Gabric (NWS MiC at KGSP), but there are no job shadowing or unpaid internships available.

On top of more sad news, the Penn State meteorology dept stated that they would not accept me into a doctorate program due to the time it took me to get a masters (6 yrs for a 2 yr degree.  Yay medication f***-up for the first three).

On a brighter note, my chances of getting into the NWS may be higher now thanks to a thing called Section A Hiring Authority.  It's non-competitive placement for people with disabilities, and my disabilities do qualify me for it.

I'm applying for a meteorologist intern position and hoping Schedule A placement helps me get past the difficulty of getting this job.  Working for the NWS would be nothing short of a dream come true.
